Fall ReLeaf Tree Application

For the last 37 years, Cincinnati Parks’ Fall ReLeaf program has grown, improved, and sustained the canopy coverage of our city. This highly successful effort has given away 25,000 free trees of over 40 species. In fact, this is one of the programs helping raise Cincinnati's overall tree canopy 5% (from 38% to 43%). Please consider doing your part to help keep the momentum going by signing up for a tree for your property and encouraging others to do the same.

This year we greatly thank the generous support of our presenting sponsor MadTree Brewing and our supporting sponsors Dynegy and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, who are proud to be able to provide free urban trees for Cincinnati residents.

Please see the below guidelines for applying for a FREE Fall ReLeaf Tree.

Please ONLY apply for a free tree if you are dedicated to picking up and planting in your front or backyard. In years past we had some not show to pick up their tree, and it is vastly important these trees are planted to help increase the canopy.

Benefits of Urban Trees:

  • Enhance the beauty of your neighborhood.
  • Improve air quality and human health.
  • Lower your heating and cooling bills through added shade and wind protection.

Application Guidelines:

  • Please only register if you are dedicated to picking up and planting the tree.
  • The planting site must be within Cincinnati city limits.
  • Front yard and backyard planting is permitted.
  • Planting between the street and sidewalk is NOT permitted.
  • Please consider the full size of the tree and ensure the right tree is planted in the right place. Be aware of any obstructions from wires, utilities, or other structures. If you have questions please call 513-861-9070. Our team of tree experts is here to assist.
  • You may select to pick up your tree at MadTree Brewing on October 16 or 19, or at Cincinnati Parks Natural Resource Office on October 21.
  • Cincinnati Parks Urban Forestry team will review applications to verify the qualifications guidelines listed above. If your property doesn't meet the guidelines, they will revise your application and notify you via the email address you provided if you unfortunately don't meet the qualifications.

Property Parcel ID Number

The Cincinnati Parks Fall ReLeaf program is only available to those who have property within the City of Cincinnati limits.

To help verify your property is within the City please type in the first three numbers of your property's Parcel ID number. If the first three numbers start with 0 or 00 then please omit them.

Examples:
if your parcel number is 040-9941-0406-00 then you enter "40"
if your parcel number is 007-8945-3333-88 then you enter "7"
if your parcel number is 456-7731-2121-00 then you enter "456"

  • Entering your parcel number is a required field, and you will not be able to process your registration without entering it.
  • You can find your Parcel ID by visiting Hamilton County Auditor. Type your address in the search fields and submit. Your Parcel ID is in the top left corner of the screen.
  • Enter only the first three digits of your parcel number.
  • Omit 0 or 00 if your Parcel ID begins with those numbers when entering your information below.

Cincinnati Neighborhood

Please select from the drop down menu the neighborhood you will be planting the tree.

This year, we are providing early access to neighborhoods who have less than 40% tree canopy. Thanks to 2020 census data we are able to accurately support those neighborhoods.
