Work with Parks Naturalist to remove invasive species in an effort to restore our native forest understory to its full, wildflowery glory. Volunteers will us handsaws and loppers to cut (Amur honeysuckle bushes) and may also be cutting and bagging seed-heads of another invasive plant, Japanese chaff flower.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather in lightweight clothing, wear long pants and layers (long sleeves), close-toed shoes are required. Suggested: refillable water bottle - there will be water cooler on site for volunteers to fill a bottle. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics. Parks will supply tools and equipment, if you prefer to use your own hand tool, please bring it!
If people are interested, we'll end with a short, guided walk to learn more about the amazing native plants we're protecting. Thanks so much for being a friend of the park!
