Shattuc Ave Clean Up @
Saturday, October 2 | 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Cincinnati Parks and concerned community members & neighbors have organized a community work day to remove invasive species and heavy brush along the Ault Park property line at Shuttuc Ave adjacent Heekin
Honeysuckle is a non - native plant and grows aggressively in this climate. It creates problems for our native ecosystem. These invasive plants choke out the natural growth of native plants that provide more for a healthy under story and local wildlife. There are also safety concerns, as these plants grow fast and thick, and obstruct sight-lines in public areas. Poison Ivy also grows in these parks, please be cautious and aware of your surroundings.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather and wear long pants and long sleeves to protect against thorns and possible poison ivy encounters. Close-toed shoes are required. Suggested: Bring work gloves (if you own them) and a refillable water bottle. There will be work gloves available to borrow and a water cooler will be provided on site for volunteers to refill bottles. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics.
